Problem solving: How do I make a TV Book? This was Ben's question in camp when I introduced the concept of an Artist Book. Ben worked on a prototype to get the kinks worked out first then he put it together. Enjoy the (Ben!) Show: Charcoal drawings from pet animal pictures beautifully rendered by students taking class from Mary Phelan on Tuesday. On Wednesday artists created masks based on Saul Steinberg and then posed in a narrative scene while Jean Stark, artist/teacher took pictures.
Young artist are so inventive and fresh in their approach to art! These works of art were created by students at camp under the guidance of Artist Marsha Brown. I've had the honor of coordinating camps for the Academy, part of the Arlington Artists Alliance. Artist and teacher Justyne Fischer is our Art Director.
Please feel free to comment so the students get to hear what you think about their work. We'll check in often to see how we inspire you. |
